Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." (Matt 19:14)

Here at El Camino we believe that God works through families to give all of us a greater understanding of his love and grace. For this reason, children are an important part of the church and the children of believers are welcomed into the fellowship of the church through the sacrament of baptism.

The goal of our children's ministry is: to provide a safe and nurturing place for children as they learn of and grow in God’s love and grace in Jesus Christ.

All of our volunteers have been screened, background checked, and received training to serve in children's ministry. We are currently working on a full child safety policy that we plan to finish in the coming year.

We seek to serve children and families in three important ways:

  • Children are welcome and encouraged to stay with their families during the worship service. We don't mind the noise (really!) and we love to see the young children singing hymns, saying prayers, and participating in the service as much as possible alongside parents and grandparents. If parents or children need a break during the services we have the service audio relayed to the foyer and the nursery, so they can continue to listen.

  • During the school year Sunday school for children is provided before morning worship at 9:45am. This is a time of instruction and fun as children learn and prayerfully come to love the grand story of the Bible. Check here to see when the next Sunday school takes place.

  • When we have enough approved volunteers, nursery is provided for children ages 3 and under during the Sunday School hour and the worship service. If we do not have approved volunteers, the nursery is available on a self-serve basis. If you would like to know whether there will be volunteers available on an upcoming Sunday, please call the church phone at the number below to speak with Pastor Jeremy.
